Tingley City Council Meeting

March 2019

The Tingley City Council met on Monday March 4, 2019 at the Tingley Community Building. Mayor Larry Jarred called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Sherry Briner, Amelia Quick, Donetta Phelps and clerk Tony Mercer. Members absent were Bob Johnson and Julie Ackley.
Also present Jake Rice, Priscill Alvik, James Novak, and Felicia Novak.

Motion to approve the agenda made by Amelia Quick, seconded by Donetta Phelps; motion carried.

Budget hearing for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019 ending June 30, 2020 called to order. No one from the public spoke and no written comments had been received. Motion to close the budget hearing was made by Sherry Briner, seconded by Amelia Quick. Motion carried.

Motion to approve the FY20 budget July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 as presented was made by Amelia Quick, seconded by Sherry Briner, Roll call vote Sherry Briner-yes, Donetta Phelps-yes, Amelia Quick-yes. Motion passed. Resolution #201901.

Motion to approve the minutes made by Amelia Quick, seconded by Donetta Phelps; motion carried.
Motion to approve bills made by Amelia Quick, seconded by Donetta Phelps; motion carried.
Motion to approve Treasurer's report by Sherry Briner seconded by Amelia Quick; motion carried.

Public Forum - Priscill Alvik was present again to plan a cleanup day. She had spoken with John Larson about getting students from the school involved. Planning for April 27th. Will make a flyer to advertise.
Jake Rice was present to offer his services in getting the old town truck listed at online auction. Donetta Phelps made a motion to sell the old truck at auction using Jake Rice's services. Amelia Quick seconded. Motion carried.

Committee - Amelia Quick reported on attending an EMA meeting where they discussed acquiring a drone for the county which would be used in search and rescue and fire response.

Old Business - New park meeting was held January 25th. Committees were formed and plans were discussed. Also discussed need for trees in the current city park and repairs to the tennis court and basketball hoops.

New Business - The council reviewed cemetery mowing bids. Two bids were received: David Miller's bid was for $300 per mowing. Jason Ackley's bid was for $275 per mowing. Donetta Phelps made a motion to accept Jason Ackley's mowing bid for $275 per mowing for 12 mowings with 3 optional additional mowings.

Insurance - Sherry Briner made a motion to pay Tyler Insurance $8311 annual insurance premium. Amelia Quick seconded. Motion carried

Adjournment - Amelia Quick made a motion to adjourn. Sherry Briner seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:49 PM.
